Let’s ‘dress up’

May 1st is a magical day, my daughter Ella turns 9 and I am releasing a true royal treat; the Pinnae Princess Dress! Inspired by the beautiful dresses that young Snow wears in the TV series Once Upon a Time, this long and twirly dress also features cap sleeve options.

Here is a little sneak peek…

Long time, no see!

So, holy cow, it’s been awhile huh? I have lots of new things to announce! Things got real quiet around here for awhile as we moved in November. The Snugglesack released in October, and I’ve already added lots of additions like a hood, car seat access (bunting style), button flap gown hem, buttonhole flaps, and button-on scratch mitts! I’ve even included the scratch mitts pattern. 🙂 My area over @ Pulling at Strings will be expanding soon, Jenn is now up to date on all my patterns and working on getting them all listed.

And for MORE pattern release news, the Avalon Dress is *finally* in testing stages and is set to release June 15th.
The long-awaited Sweet Babies addendum is next on my list, due to re-release July 15th. Lots of new features will be included and I’m planning on adding a short rows tutorial as well as more instructional photos.
Lastly, the original full button-crotch knitted romper, my Snuggler romper pattern should be drafted and in testing here by late summer for *hopefully* an early October BABYMOON stocking on KnitKnot’s HC. (Yep, you read that right!!)

Turns out, Kenan and I are expecting our fifth baby together. He/she is due December 2nd, but I don’t expect to go much longer than 38 weeks. So an 11-11 BB! I have loads of knitting to do for the baby, as we sold most all our baby things. Let’s suffice to say BB is hugely inspirational, pushing me to plan all sorts of fun design prototypes and draw tons of sketches. 😀
After Babymoon, in early 2012, KnitKnots will be hoppin’ with more yummy yarn (MORE? I’ll elaborate in a sec!) and FRESH designs that will no longer have previews! I’m confident enough now with the design process that I can forgo the testing phase (unless, of course in special circumstances- in which only close friends will be invited to test by me and allowed to see full preview) so I hope you can be patient my friends, as I may have to knit numerous prototypes. I hope to see more exciting releases by doing this as well as protecting KnitKnots’ livelyhood. I can give hints though! I’m hoping to publish a princely boys’ sweater, a nature-inspired baby cardi, a very ‘wise’ tunic-style top, and a delightfully retro-style dress!

Now about the yarn. This year, ending with the Babymoon stocking, I’m hoping to have a FULL spectrum of delightful and quirky semi solids available for preorder! Of course, I may have some extra skeins laying about that I may list for immediate sale from time to time. There will be bold and timeless new colorways available for immediate sale at KnitKnots’ four themed stockings for the year:
-On June 15th, to celebrate the release of the Avalon Dress, I’ll be listing 6 debuting semi solids, available on preorder.
-On July 15th, 3 new colorways and 5 semi solids will debut as well as the re-release of the Sweet Babies Longies pattern in honor of Baby V(5).
-On August 15th, 4 colorways and 4 semi solids will debut.
-Aaaand in early October, 3 colorways, 4 semi solids and the Snuggler romper pattern will debut!
Next year I will be rounding out KnitKnots Tone-on-Tone Semi Solids spectrum for an even wider array of choices and as always creating unforgettable colorways.

Welp, that’s the rundown! Happy Yarning!

Oh my gawsh

Okay, so is it just me or is this year ALREADY flying by? March is just about here folks!! I’ve been in Spring Cleaning mode as well as spending some time being the Craft Queen lately. Lots of fun projects going on right now:

-Knitting a hooded cardi for E.

-Yarn balls. Been winding lots of hanks of gorgeous WAHM hand-dyed goodness for queued projects.

-Planning and plotting Easter basket goodies. I made NOTHING this last Christmas and felt weird so I     have some time to make up for, lol.

-Hairbows! Been making lots of them lately.

-Preliminary planning for E’s 6th birthday party: K says there’s a place that will pick the girls up in a     PINK LIMO for spa/makeover fun… leaning towards that idea!

With March, then Easter right around the corner I think E’s birthday will come quicker than I expect. My sweet little baby is becoming a helpful, fashion-conscious, prissy, thoughtful young girl. She told me the other day she won’t marry a boy unless the diamond in her ring is “ginourmous.” LOL, such a smart girl- I’ve taught her well! ;D

Little Miss A began taking steps without cruising on February 12th. She can get about 6 or so in now until she loses balance and topples to the floor like a cute little Weeble. A’s also climbing to the top of the stairs! Baby gate time!

The boys are also doing great. N excels in mathematics and reminds me SO MUCH of his Uncle Josh. They both are of the sort to do math for FUN. (Yeah, totally beyond me, lol!) D is another smart little cookie. I should say BIG cookie. Everyone is always in such disbelief when we tell them he’s only 3. His vocabulary is astounding, he can already read a little and he carries a bit of “old man” matureness that makes one aware that he’s an “old soul.”

Long overdue

has been my first post for 2010, but there you have it. We’ve been SO busy. Lots going on and that’s pretty much expected with a family our size. ;D

I figured I’d share some photos from Christmas, since I haven’t yet..

Can you get over how BIG they are? A’s going to be walking soon. I’m in no hurry for it, lol. Here’s our tree..

Verrry eclectic, to say the least! I loved it anyway. Sorry about this being a photo dump. I’ll make a post soon with more meat and less filler!

11 days and counting

I am exhausted! I’m getting over a stomach bug. It seems like since I got anemia this time last year (when I was pregnant with A) I’ve been sick a LOT. At least more than I have in the seven plus years I’ve lived here. (I used to be constantly sick when I lived In Minnesota, TOO DAMN COLD, LOL.) Sure doesn’t help that I still have anemia, I guess.

I’m thinking about knitting a few things last minute for some of the kids’ gifts. Probably some hats and perhaps some ornaments or other holiday decor. Lord only knows I have enough yarn to plenish a small continent! 😉9-thru-11-2009 429 by you.

A’s up to EIGHT teeth now! She’s standing unassisted a lot more, too. Won’t be long now until she walks! The rest of the kids are also doing really well. N’s about to lose one of his top front teeth. That’ll put the tally up to three. I could swear I lost more by his age, but then again I always fussed over my loose teeth and wiggled them until I could yank ’em out. E is such a sweet girl, she attended a birthday party for a classmate (a first for her) on Saturday and now she wants to start planning her 6th birthday party. (Her birthday isn’t until May first, but I don’t have the heart to tell her to be patient.) D is definitely in the “terrible 3s” and is finding his independance. He’s so funny, he’s without a doubt inherited mine and K’s overactive imaginations! Now that we have internet again I have to battle with N and E over the computer, but it keeps them busy (and out of trouble!) while I get things accomplished. They have another week of school and then a few days the week of Christmas before they’re out for winter break. Then it will be time for finding things for them to do. I figure we’ll make cookies and fudge, work on crafts, and I’ll let them play with their little friends to keep them busy. I’m hoping we won’t have a repeat of last Christmas when basically the whole fam came down with the Mucus of Death. That’s it for recent updates on the A-Team, they’re all thriving beautifully.
